Extending the Community Fence at Spring Hill Farm

Community FenceSpring Hill Farm, a BCT property along County Road in Cataumet, provides a home for our resident goats, grazing for local horses, and areas to get-together for yard sales, an annual Easter egg hunt and other Village events. Over the past few years there has been an initiative to replace old wire fencing throughout the farm with a traditional split rail fence. The fence is now complete, but not fully paid for. You can still purchase a rail of fence along with a plaque with a tribute of your choice. You can dedicate the plaque in memory of, or in honor of, a family member, a special friend, a pet or whatever or whoever has special meaning for you.

To place your plaque on a rail of fence, please download, complete and print our Community Fence Donation Form Send this form along with a $100 donation to the BCT, PO Box 203, Cataumet, MA 02534.

Other Ways of Giving:

Will

Naming the BCT in your will creates a gift and can reduce or eliminate federal estate taxes.

Life Insurance

The Bourne Conservation Trust can be named as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy.

Real Estate

Real estate can be given as an outright gift. Such donations have both real estate and income tax benefits.

Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities may save on capital gains taxes.

Bargain Sale

By special arrangement, you may sell your property to the BCT for less than its fair market value (a bargain sale) and the difference is considered a charitable gift.

Cash

Cash donations provide immediate funds for BCT use and can result in tax savings for the donor.

Charitable Lead Trust

Cash or securities can be placed in a charitable trust for a specified period of time, with income directed to the BCT. At the end of the trust period, the principal reverts to the donor or some other beneficiary.

Life Income Gifts

The transfer of cash, securities, or other property to a charitable trust will provide a life income to the donor, donor's spouse, or other beneficiaries. After the death of the last named beneficiary, the principal becomes available for use by the BCT. Current tax deductions and eventual estate tax deductions provide a double benefit.

Gifts to the Bourne Conservation Trust are charitable contributions with resulting tax benefits. The amount of the benefit depends on the kind and size of gift. A well-planned gift can combine financial and charitable objectives by providing tax benefits, thereby meeting personal and charitable goals.

The Bourne Conservation Trust is tax exempt from Federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Within IRS guidelines, contributions may be tax deductible from your taxable income. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
